Basecamps, cycling and a range of social events are also offered. Trips within Australia, overseas and locally are also undertaken periodically.

Medium   Some of the walk not necessarily on formed tracks, with some sustained climbs (1km or more). Walking time 5 to 6 hours, 10 to 20 km.

Medium/Hard   As for medium but includes rougher terrain, ie. heavy scrub, rock scrambling or longer climbs or descents. Walking time 5 to 6 hours, 10 to 20 km.

Hard   Consistent walking in difficult terrain, rock scrambling, thick scrub, steep ups and downs, creek crossings. Experienced and fit walkers only. Walking time 6 to 10 hours, 10 to 20 km

This popular base camp offers five night’s accommodation including 3 meals per day in the YMCA Lodge near Falls Creek. This camp has been running for a number of years offering a variety of walks over 4 days to choose between and is a fun and relaxing time with the chance to make new friends.

This is a Diamond Valley, Koonung, Waverley and Essendon Bushwalking venture with combined walks and activities including a New Years Eve celebration.

Our expectation is that singles willing to share a room (bottom bed only) will be around $530 and couples requesting their own room will be around $570 each. Final costs depend on the numbers attending.

A $200 deposit is required by the end of August via the Howmans website. Instructions will be sent at the start of August to those who register online for the camp. Once you have committed to this if you find you cannot come you will either need to find a replacement person or you may be required to pay the balance of your booking.
