Medium/Hard   As for medium but includes rougher terrain, ie. heavy scrub, rock scrambling or longer climbs or descents. Walking time 5 to 6 hours, 10 to 20 km.

Walkers wanting to car pool should meet at Mullum Mullum Reserve, Melway 34H7 ///alive.part.sheet at 8:15am - please note in the comments if you will be starting at Mullum Mullum or Red Hill.

The walk starts at The Epicurian, 165 Shoreham Road, Red Hill - Melways Ref: 191 17 ///awakening.defections.legacy at 9:30 am.

There is a carpark behind the shops, but more importantly there is a restaurant 'Epicurian' where you can enjoy a  great coffee before the walk - toilets available.

It is a circular walk, 14km, undulating, a small distance off track, but mostly on quiet roads, and in some instances walking on horse tracks alongside some main roads.

The walk traverses through picturesque farmlands and vineyards.  Punty Lane is filled with majestic old pine trees with a short distance of off track and a creek crossing (with bridge).

This takes us to Shoreham Road when we will stop at Montalto Vineyard where they have an interesting sculpture park.  We will also have lunch here and there is an option for anyone interested to have a Montalto lunch in the garden (see menu: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0761/5702/6608/files/Piazza_Menu_01.12.pdf?v=1701407992 )

We will return to the Red Hill Centre along Shoreham and Baynes Roads.

Whilst it is quite a distance from the Diamond Valley area it is worth the drive!

Bring trekking poles, morning tea, lunch (if you choose not to 'dine out') and water.

It is a was formed track last time we did it, but there will be some rock hopping, rock scrambling, log hopping, log scrambling and  knee high damp grasses to navigate ( apparently some of this has now been washed away). Morning tea will be around 11am and we will continue on to the junction of the Eastern Track and Cowans Track. We will make our way up the 700 metre hill (200 metre gradient) to enjoy a well deserved lunch break, chat and relax. We will then follow the undulating Cowans Track for approximately 4klms, admiring the views from our ridge top position, coming to O'Briens Road at the end of this track. Weather dependent, we will return to O'Briens Crossing via the road or take Shortcut Track, which is down hill for approximately 4klms
