Twilight Walk - Yarra Bend Park

A Twilight walk to welcome in Standard Eastern Time.

Made up of a 8.7km walk mostly easy but sometimes on narrow tracks and with some short sharp rocky rises and steps occuring before Sunset.  

This walk takes in Kane's bridge, Dights Falls, Fairfield pipe bridge and 117 species of important Flora & 185 Indigenous native Fauna species, including the:Flying Foxes,

There will be a 1.0km return to viewpoint for Sunset overlooking the city,

This will be followed by a Sausage sizzle at Studley Park Picnic Area.

There will be a cost of $6.00 for those partaking in a sausage sizzle, onion, coleslaw & Prosecco. Exact numbers (for catering) will be requested closer to the date)

For those travelling by train, they will walk the 3.0km in twilight/dark on a well formed trail passing the former site of Yarra Bend Lunatic Asylum, Gatatea Point and former Deep Rock Swimming Club,.

Total distance 12.7kms (in three sections)

3:01pm Eltham train Arrives at Victoria Park 3:37pm. myki card is required for those travelling by train (recommended).

Those travelling by car need to be at Studley Park Picnic Area Carpark,1 Boathouse Rd Kew, ready by 2:30pm when we will walk the 3.0km first to join those arriving at the Station..

Headlamps are required, along with sturdy shoes and mozzie repellant?
