Two Walls and a Big Rock at You Yangs Regional Park

Our challenges through the day will be the East-West track on rocky granite outcrops winding round Flinders Peak, ascend alongside rock climbing slabs and walk off track through vegetation.

We will have views of the volcanic plains and as we stand on some spectacular slabs of granite rising from the sprawling woodlands will have panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes including Port Philip and Corio Bay, Geelong, Melbourne and a geoglyph of Bunjil.

The woodlands, heathlands and rocky outcrops we walk through provide varied habitats for a range of native animals, including kangaroos, echidnas and various bird species.

Two walls and a big rock may take you out of your comfort zone as I grade it harder than the usual medium level.

This is a combined walk with Koonung Bush Walking Club.
