Quarry and Granite Hills Sth Morang

We will be following the map of a series of trails and proposed trails as part of a new suburban park program. The proposed trails (which we will follow across the paddocks) will be constructed soon and we will be following their anticipated route.

The first kilometre is on flat formed tracks (to warm up) then we start a long steady hill past some lookouts to the maximum elevation of 267m at about the 4 km mark where we can take in the views towards Epping and Wollert in the East. We then cut across glasslands past dams, old quarry machinery and the many gums and kangaroos inhabiting this park again down and up more gradual hills to our lunch location overlooking the townships to the West. From here it's all down hill back along formed paths to our original meeting place for coffee and snakes.

Distance 12.8 kms. Bring water, morning tea, lunch and poles if you use them.

Ground can at times be irregular due to us crossing grasslands and stepping over some fallen tree limbs.
