Sailors Falls/Wombat State Forest

Sailors Falls & Wombat State Forest/Daylesford, Distance: 17.7 kms, Medium. Details: This walk starts & finishes at Sailors Falls Reserve, which is located about 5kms on the main road PRIOR to Daylesford. A reasonable flat & open walk with lots of undulations with various climbs from 50m to 100m ascents. The trail initially goes due east down Shanahans Lane & Manna Gum Road, and cuts through and along an old railway alignment, then down to Jubilee Lake. Continue towards town and take a gentle walk besides Lake Daylesford onto Wombat Creek Road At this juncture we have 6.8 kms along the dusty bush gravel Black Jack Track back to a final climb up the steps to Sailors Falls and our cars.
