Mordialloc to Brighton Beach
The walk starts at the Mordialloc Railway Station and ends at the Brighton Beach Station. Walkers short on time have the option of opting out at earlier train stations if they wish.
Walking north along the well formed tracks amongst the coastal tea-tree, there are continuous vistas of Port Phillip Bay and the city skyline. The foreshore coastal trail celebrates Bayside's indigenous, historical, artistic and environmental heritage. Over 100 years ago the founders of the famous Heidelberg School of painters spent their summer camps painting works along the coastline.
We will meet outside the Mordialloc Railway Station at the Main Street Cafe - What3Words window.solar.galaxy. For those travelling from Eltham there is an 08:20 train that connects with the 09:07 train from Flinders St to Mordialloc (Frankston Line). It arrives at Mordialloc at 09:52.
The walk from Mordialloc to Black Rock is 8km and may suit people interested in the Ramblers walk (bus every 15 minutes from Black Rock to the Sandringham Line). Those walking on to Brighton Beach Station can catch the train directly to Flinders St and change for the Eltham train.
The full walk is 15km and mostly flat
Bring water, morning tea and lunch (...although plenty of opportunities to pick something up at local cafés along the way)
