You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and someone will contact you to give a brief resume of the club and arrange for an Induction Meeting (these are held at 7.30 prior to a Monthly Meeting).  Alternatively you can just arrive at 7.30 pm at Metzner Hall, St Vincents Care Services, Gate 1, 43 Diamond Street, Eltham Vic 3095    (Melway 21 J4) on the third Thursday of any month except January and July. 

At the beginning of the induction meeting you will be given a Prospective Member Registration form to complete and sign.  The registration fee is $10.00.  This form contains an Acknowledgement of Risks and Obligations section, which is required for insurance purposes.  The club requires a signed copy of Acknowledgement of Risks and Obligations before anyone can walk with the Club.  The new member team will be happy to provide explanations.

During the meeting you will be given the New Member Application form and instructions on how to access our Walks Program on the website. You will also be given an Emergency Information form  to complete and carry with you in your pack detailing people the Club should contact if an emergency occurs.

STEP 2 - Start Walking !!

You must complete two qualifying walks with the Club before applying for membership. Before doing these walks:

  1. Study the latest Walks Program;
  2. Checkout the walk gradings. Generally start with Easy or Easy/Medium walks; and
  3. Email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to book a walk at least four days before the walk date.

We suggest you start with easy walks if you are not experienced.

You are expected to complete the qualifying walks within a three month period from registering and if you do not the Club will assume that you do not wish to become a member and your registration will lapse.  Extensions can be granted by the new member team on request.

Leaders of the first two walks you attend will record the walks on the New Member Application form. that you received at the induction meeting.  These are your qualifying walks. Your application also has to be signed by two Club members nominating and seconding you for membership. 


Once the Club has received your completed New Member Application form and your $35 membership fee the application will be presented at the next Committee Meeting. Following approval you will be formally welcomed into the Club as a full member.
