Mt Macedon (2)

There’s tree cover for pretty much the whole of this walk and being up the mountain, its always a few degrees cooler making for a great summer walk through really pretty, lush green forest. Starting from Sanitorium Lake we’ll follow the trail around to Camels Hump where we’re greeted with fantastic views before circling back to the rock climbing area for morning tea and hopefully some rock climbers in action. Then we follow an undulating and sometimes rocky trail to the Cross for some more views and our lunch break, there are toilets and a cafe if you need a cuppa or perhaps an ice cream treat so bring some cash. After lunch we re-trace out steps back to the car but the journey will be a little shorter as we don’t do Camels Hump on the return. There’s an option to shorten this walk if its too warm or the group doesn’t want to tackle Camels Hump and/or Sanitorium Lake - we’ll discuss and agree on the day. 15K medium.
