Starting and ending at the Gums campground, Kinglake, walk along Blackfish Way then ascend Andrews Hill via Stringybark and Mountain Creek tracks, Then back down Andrews Hill track.. The 2km climb before lunch is steep and not for those who dislike hills. The downward strectch after lunch is also steep and awkward. Poles recommended.

Private car-pooling arrangements are welcome.

Directions to The Gums. Head for Kinglake, the most usual route being via the Heidelberg-Kinglake Rd. At the roundabout as you enter Kinglake go straight ahead then after 250 metres, at the petrol station, turn right onto Kinglake-Glenburn Rd. Follow this road for 10 km. Gums Camping Area is on the left, about 1.8km past the Island Bend picnic area. There isn't much warning of the turnoff. At the bottom of the drive, turn right to the day parking area. If it is full we may have to park in campsites.
